Building a distinctive visual identity for a major regional racing event

Carnival of Cups is Harness Racing New South Wales’ flagship entertainment series, designed to bring new energy to race days across regional NSW. Now in its third season, the program combines elite harness racing with live music and large-scale entertainment, transforming each stop into a destination event.
Craft has worked alongside Harness Racing NSW since Season One, when we created the original Carnival of Cups identity. Since then, we’ve continued to evolve the brand year-on-year, building on its bold visual language while keeping each season feeling fresh and relevant.
For the 2025/26 season, spanning Newcastle, Wagga, Bathurst, Albury and Penrith, we delivered a wide range of creative assets to support each event. This included posters, digital advertising, animated video assets, stage backdrops, fence scrim, horse rugs, invitations and branded merchandise. Using the core identity as a foundation, we introduced unique colourways and treatments for each location, giving every event its own personality while maintaining a strong, consistent look across the series.
It’s been a privilege to continue growing this brand with Harness Racing NSW and to see Carnival of Cups come to life each season through immersive design and memorable, high-impact event experiences.
